A major global beverage manufacturer came to Alexander & Associates to develop a machine that would add plastic spouts with caps to paper cartons. Our client felt such a feature would improve the product, adding a marketing innovation that would stimulate sales. A commercial machine already existed to open, fill and seal the carton. Alexander & Associates' challenge was to convert this machine into high speed production equipment and integrate the design with the existing process.
Alexander & Associates defined the overall schedule, cost estimate and testing plan required for this project. Working directly with the client's machine builder and engineers, Alexander & Associates designed and constructed a working prototype. An infrastructure was designed and built to run this equipment at existing production rates and efficiencies.
After the equipment was turned over to the client, Alexander & Associates worked as a liaison between the client and the equipment builder to move from the prototype design to the final production machine. Alexander & Associates also oversaw the roll-out of the machine in the client's facilities nationwide.
