Alexander & Associates is actively seeking experienced, enthusiastic and self motivated Machining Specialist/Toolmaker capable of operating both CNC and manual machine tools to join our staff of technically oriented personnel who enjoy a fast paced, problem solving environment.  This is a full time, first shift position.  We also offer full benefits and the opportunity to experience career and personal growth.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for G-Code Programming (BobCAD)
  • Responsible for fixturing, set ups and execution of scheduled jobs
  • Operation of vertical machining centers and horizontal boring mills, deburring and inspection of parts to insure conformity to defined requirements and quality
  • Operation of fork truck and/or lifting devices for handling of parts
  • Communication with shop supervision, design engineers, and other shop personnel to insure quality, delivery and/or issue resolution
  • Responsible for organization and cleanliness of work area as well as perform minor preventative maintenance of equipment
  • May perform other duties as assigned

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Individuals having both CNC and manual machining experience preferred
  • Position requires capability to program, set-up, and machine one-off components efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality
  • Prior job related experience operating vertical machining centers is required
  • Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments is required
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings and specifications is required
  • Ideal candidate would possess a thorough knowledge of G-Code programming (BobCAD)
  • Candidates should have experience using FANUC and ProtoTrak machine controls
  • Candidates must be capable of multi-tasking, problem solving, have strong shop match skills, and understanding tolerances desired
  • Good mechanical aptitude having prior component assembly experience
  • Candidates lacking prior on-the-job experience MUST have completed an accredited machinist trade training course
