On behalf of A&A I would like to take a minute to recognize David Burkett for his outstanding work on a developmental packaging project for our biggest client. Russ Miller received the following email from out customer regarding some of the support that David provided:
Wanted to pass along a note to you so you hear as well, but overall, wanted to commend David on the support he has provided the Cape site with over the course of our ***** work. I can’t say enough good things about the work that he has done here and how much we have appreciated his support through the startup. Certainly goes above and beyond with the support in terms of being available, training, flexibility to schedule and hours and scope of work. Although he is deemed the electrical resource, there isn’t one person by themselves that I’d rather have here to support ***** on a startup. He fills as much as the mechanical void that was as well as the electrical resource role.
It’s quite obvious that David is providing our client with outstanding service. It’s efforts like this that keep our customers coming back.
Nicely done David and many thanks.
On behalf of A&A I would like to take a minute to recognize Greg Hornsby and Quentin Shafer for their work on the current guarding project at Este. This project has introduced a new technology to A&A by utilizing point cloud data from 3D scanning for auditing hundreds of different locations on a very large and complex machine. Greg worked intimately with a vendor to understand the requirements of this technology and develop an internal process to measure and utilize this data to lead the designs of the guards. Quentin has been doing the designs on the guards using this point cloud data for the entirety of the project. We were also given the opportunity to quote the fabrication work and were able to build prototype and production parts for this project. Through both of their hard work (and others who have worked on this project), the team was able to install the first full category of guards without issue. The customer has repeatedly praised the work and has stated they were amazed that it all went together “without using a tape measure once”. Thanks to Greg and Quentin for all the hard work.

The Curtiss Candy Company claimed that the candy bar Baby Ruth was named after President Grover Cleveland’s daughter, Ruth Cleveland.
- The candy maker, located on the same street as Wrigley Field, named the bar “Baby Ruth” in 1921, as Babe Ruth’s fame was on the rise.
- 24 years after Cleveland had left the White House.
- 17 years after his daughter, Ruth, had died.
- The company did not negotiate an endorsement deal with Ruth, and many saw the company’s story about the origin of the name to be a devious way to avoid having to pay the baseball player any royalties.
